Vigilia di Natale al Selleries

Ciao a tutti,
come stanno procedendo le vostre vacanze natalizie? Io mi sto rilassando parecchio...se escludiamo il giorno della vigilia di Natale, del quale sto per scrivere in questo post, sto abituandomi a svegliarmi intorno alle 12. Cosa che per me, abituato ad alzarmi presto per andare a lavorare e ancora più per andare in montagna, non è molto usuale. Tra un pranzo e l'altro comunque, trovo il tempo per scrivere due righe sulla gita di lunedì 24 dicembre.

how are you spending your Christmas holidays? I'm relaxing myself a lot...if you exclude Christmas Eve, whose day I'm going to write about in this post, I'm getting used to wake up late, not before 12 AM. It's so unusual for me that I'm a person used to wake up early to go to work or in mountain. Anyway, among Christmas lunches, I'm finding some time in order to write some words about the trip of December, 24.

Gita atipica: già, in compagnia del mio capo, Enrico. Per quanto ci si possa discutere in ufficio, è bello avere un capo con il quale condividere dei momenti piacevoli come quelli passati sulle ciaspole lunedì. E mi ha fatto ancora più piacere il fatto che sia stato lui a cercarmi.
La meta di giornata, il Rifugio Selleries, non era affatto proibitiva. In fondo, l'idea era quella di fare una gita in mattinata, in maniera di poter trascorrere in casa il pomeriggio della vigilia. E il Rifugio Selleries è una location ideale in quanto si parte da Pra Catinat, che posso raggiungere in 45 minuti di auto, e la durata del percorso è inferiore alle due ore.
It has been an atypical trip since my chief was with me. It's nice to have a chief which I can share pleasant moments as those spent on Monday on the snowshoes, in spite of some discussions in office. It has been wonderful the fact he asked me for this trip.
The destination of Monday was the Rifugio Selleries and it wasn't so arduous. In fact, the original idea was to be at home in the early afternoon. The Rifugio Selleries is an ideal location since the path starts from Pra Catinat (45 minutes of car away from my home) and the duration of the path is less than two hours.

Ero già stato al Rifugio Selleries, più di due anni fa, in settembre. Ero di passaggio allora, da lì ero poi salito sul Monte Orsiera. La configurazione del paesaggio mi aveva fatto pensare che sarebbe stata un'ottima meta per una tranquilla gita invernale. Infatti così è stato, la neve che copriva la poderale che da Pra Catinat porta al rifugio, nonostante non fosse nelle migliori condizioni, era comunque splendidamente battuta. Il dislivello non eccessivo, poco più di 300 metri, l'ha resa una piacevole gita più che una faticosa ciaspolata.
I had been in this place two years ago about, in September. On that occasion, I started the trip from Rifugio Selleries towards Monte Orsiera. But the landscape layout made me think that this could be a wonderful location for a nice winter trip. This has been, the snow above the road that lead to the refuge wasn't in perfect condition but it was well pressed. The height difference is slightly more than 300 metres and this makes it a pleasant trip more than a hard snowshoes-trekking.

Dal rifugio si gode di un ottimo panorama verso il fondovalle della Val Chisone. Un piccolo sorriso è spuntato sulle mie labbra nel momento in cui ho visto le nuvole che coprivano la pianura mentre noi eravamo baciati dal sole. D'altronde così doveva essere, dato che tutto il percorso è interamente esposto a sud. Il ritorno in discesa verso Pra Catinat, come ogni gita in compagnia di persone piacevoli, è scivolato via in fretta, tra discorsi sul mio futuro lavorativo e sulle corse podistiche (passione che condivido tra l'altro, proprio con Enrico).
The panorama visible from the refuge towards the end of the Val Chisone is wonderful. A little smile appeared on my lips in the moment when I saw numbs covering the plain in the meanwhile we were kissed by the sun. Besides, the whole path is South exposed. The return towards Pra Catinat slipped very quickly (as every time you are with nice people) among speeches about my working future and runs (passion that I share with Enrico).

Davvero una piacevole giornata, conclusasi in bellezza a casa del mio capo con un pranzo "a sorpresa". Si, davvero piacevole. Sia dal punto di vista umano che dal punto di vista della montagna, è stata una vigilia di Natale da ricordare.

It has really been an enjoyable day that finished with an unexpected lunch at my chief's house. It has been a very nice Christmas Eve, in both human side and mountain side.
